A work of craft
The Girard Stool is a quintessential representation of Alexander Girard’s design sense, weaving a joyful sense of expression alongside its functional nature. Use it as a footrest, a perch, an extra seat—Girard’s pieces are as multipurpose and multidisciplinary as the designer himself.
A curated selection of textiles celebrates Girard, and offer new updates for today, including sustainable materials making their debut, like recycled aluminum and bio-based foam.

Multidisciplinary design
He may have been best known as the founding director for Herman Miller’s textile division, but Alexander Girard designed furniture too—for his own home, friends and clients, and Herman Miller. Originally produced in 1967 for the Girard Group (based on his furniture designs for Braniff International), the Girard Stool is being reintroduced.
