Linda and Joseph Ricchio

Linda and Joseph Ricchio are both graduates of California State University. Their respective backgrounds in industrial design and interiors led them naturally to furniture design. Their first chair for Knoll, the Ricchio chair, features carefully contoured lines and a comfortably scooped back for a contemporary and timeless aesthetic—earning it a 1991 ROSCOE Award. The success of the original Ricchio chair prompted Knoll to collaborate twice more with Joseph Ricchio. The JR and Joe chairs are both more compact designs derived from the Ricchio.

Joseph attributes many of his design sensibilities to the time he spent studying art and design in Florence. After working as a designer at several private practices, he taught product and graphic design at the Art Center College of Design in Pasadena, California.

Linda is a member of the Industrial Designer Society of America. Her work experience ranges from design and space planning with various southern California design firms to magazine and art direction.
