Bill Stumpf and Jack Kelley
For Bill Stumpf, who also designed the Ergon®
, Equa®
, and Aeron®
chairs, beauty was important in the design of Ethospace. “I love
the availability of beautiful things and useful things immediately
around me,” he once said. He was interested in “freeing up
the body, designing away constraints.” Jack Kelley had been
fascinated with computers since he designed the world’s first
mouse pad. This invention brought him an early understanding
of the complexities of working in computer environments—an
understanding that helped shape Ethospace.
