HAY’s long-time collaboration with Danish designer Hee Welling is being expanded with new additions to the iconic Hee Series. Still retaining the same light, understated aesthetics as the existing bar stool, lounge chair, and dining chair, the series has now been updated with the designs featuring a hot galvanised finish.
Hee Lounge / Designer
Hee Welling is a Danish furniture designer who founded his own studio in Copenhagen in 2003. The son of a cabinetmaker, Welling’s fascination with production techniques, materials, and machinery was fired as a child. He went on to study at The University of Art and Design in Helsinki, and received his master’s degree in furniture design from The Royal Danish Academy of Fine Arts. Centred around the idea of creating technically accomplished products that can reach a wide audience, his designs are characterised by a great sense of proportion and quietly elegant aesthetics.
